Based on Dan Simmons' 2007 historical fiction novel of the same name, AMC's The Terror (2018) takes place in 1847 when a Royal Naval crew run into all sorts of scary stuff while looking for a Northwest Passage through the Arctic. Inspired by the true story of Captain Sir John Franklin's (Ciaran Hinds) infamous lost expedition, on the show, the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror are heading into uncharted territory way up North in the Arctic convinced they'll be able to cruise straight through to the Pacific. Of course that's not a thing, so they end up trapped in ice and figure their only shot is to find some open water and chip away at the ice until they can free their boat. The problem is, they end up pursued by a supernatural force that takes out anyone not frozen to death or eaten by polar bears. Season two centered around World War II, where a Japanese family living on America's West Coast deals with racism, internment camps, and a supernatural entity known as the bakemono that's followed them all the way from their California home. Season three is going to be about an insane asylum, but what's insane how little nudity the show has given us. All we get is a scene where Adam Nagaitis gives us a lot of heat in the Arctic circle by showing off his ripped pants as he gets shirtless to prepare for punishment. He lowers his pants and bends over to give us a bit of his bun, too! Whipping Adam is kind of kinky! It's terrible we didn't get more nudity in The Terror!
