Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)

Gary Oldman earned his first Oscar nomination for playing retired MI6 agent George Smiley in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), based on the John le Carré novel of the same name. Previously adapted as a BBC miniseries in the late 70s starring Alec Guinness, the story is set during the early 70s when the Cold War was raging and MI6 brings Smiley out of retirement to smoke out a Russian mole within their ranks. The suspects are seemingly numerous from new intelligence chief Percy Alleline (Toby Jones) to his deputy Bill Haydon (Colin Firth), along with their loyal lieutenants Bland (Ciarán Hinds) and Esterhase (David Dencik). It's not all buttoned down espionage talk as we do get a brief but fantastic fully nude scene from nudecomer Tomasz Kowalski who bares all when he is caught by his wife having sex with another woman! You'll Tinker with your little Soldier when you get a load of everything he's working with!
