Tom Skerritt is equally known for his many famous roles as he is for his spectacular mustache. He’s also been popping up naked since 1974, and doing it quite well. You can see his naked behind in the classic Roger Corman action flick Big Bad Mama (1974) as Fred, again as Logan in Opposing Forces (1986), and one more time as Darryl Cooper in Poison Ivy (1992). And while you may not have heard of all of these flicks (except Poison Ivy, because, duh, camp and Drew Barrymore? Yes, please.), there are plenty of films you’ve definitely seen Tommy boy play in. Of the 73 feature films the Detroit native and United States Air Force retiree has credited to his resume, you may remember a few classics like his role as Duke Forrest in the movie M*A*S*H(1970) (the one that came before the series), Marcus Winston in Ice Castles (1978) (rent it if you haven’t seen it; a true classic), the character Dallas in Alien (1979), Viper in Top Gun (1986) (Mr. Man will fly with him), the fishing-hatted and gun-toting Drum Eatenton in Steel Magnolias (1989), Rev. Maclean in A River Runs Through It (1992) (Brad Pitt’s dad), and David Drumlin in Contact (1997) with Jodie Foster. Not to mention TV shows, including a six-episode stint on Cheers in the late ‘80s, and one on Picket Fences from 1992-1996, for which he won a Primetime Emmy for his role of Jimmy Brock. He really should win one for his mustache, too. And his butt.
