According to General William Tecumseh Sherman, “War is Hell” so you don’t prepare for a trip to Hades by spending a weekend in Camp Heck. But tell that to Eric (Lionheart) Karson who directed the R-rated flick Opposing Force (1986). In this action drama, a handful of soldiers must endure advanced military training. As such, Logan (Tom Skerritt), Ripkin (Paul Joynt), Conway (Ken Wright) and Casey (Lisa Eichorn) have been airlifted and dumped into Camp Hell, a bastion of barbarity and rude abuse in a remote section of the Philippines. Once stranded in the jungle, the recruits are at the mercy of Commander Becker (Anthony Zerbe) and Sergeant Stafford (Richard Roundtree), two domineering and sadistic drill instructors. Needless to say, these dudes give the soldiers the shaft — and not in a good way. But luckily for us, the regimen of deprivation and duress is often endured in the nude. In other words, we get to watch the aptly-named Mr. Wright strip for his sergeant 32 minutes into the pic. The same can be said for Mr. Joynt and Mr. Skerritt who also are forced to flash their flesh while getting deloused. This skintastic act showcases the pecs and buns on Ken and Paul as well as on Tom’s butt double. How cheeky! At least we get to view Tom’s real chest and bulging briefs in other scenes. If that’s not hot enough, Ken reveals his rump again at the 47-minute mark. Gotta love a military man in and out of uniform!
