Vigilante (1983)

Long before audiences sought out the payback pics Vigilante (2008), A Vigilante (2018) and Vigilante Diaries (2016) to get their vicarious vengeance on, grindhouse filmmaker William Lustig pulled out all the stops in the rock-’em sock-’em blast-’em out of their socks revenge flick Vigilante (1983). This gritty pic features Robert Forster as Eddie Marino, a family man in Queens. Unfortunately, his life is forever changed when a throng of multi-ethnic thugs led by gang member Rico (Willie Colón) murders his kid and messes up his wife (Rutanya Alda). Adding trauma to tragedy is the fact that after he attempts to fight back, a corrupt judge (Vincent Beck) and a nightmare attorney (Joe Spinell) send Eddie to prison instead of the actual criminals! Once he’s sprung, our hero bands together with his fed-up friends (Fred Williamson, Joseph Carberry and Richard Bright) to unleash gory, lethal fury on the do-badders in all five boroughs. Along the way, we encounter Mary Fletcher (Carol Lynley), Blueboy (Frank Pesce) and Rake (Woody Strode) until the plot concludes with an explosive climax. Speaking of, it should be against the law not to see this crime thriller since it showcases Forster’s nude body. At the 55-minute mark, Robert appears in the buff while taking a shower in prison. Indeed, we are treated to views of the actor’s bare back, abs, ass and shaft! Can we get a towel? The sexy scene will make you long to do thirty days (or thirty minutes) in the hole with this tough hunk!
