The sexy Alec Secareanu is a mysterious, dark-haired dude who always leaves us wanting more. This Romanian actor hails from Bucharest, but has gone on to star in globally successful movies and TV shows. One of his earliest steady gigs was in the Romanian TV series Pariu cu viata (aka A Bet With Life) from 2011-2012, a teen musical show. Not really the type of project he would later be known for, it was at least a steady gig, with Alec playing the recurring character of Jimmy from 2011-2012. He’s especially fond of UK productions, in addition to those from his own country. You may have seen him on the big screen as Shacht in UK’s Chosen (2016) with Harvey Keitel, in a starring role as The Rider in the UK Movie The Bike Thief (2020), or as Dr. Lieberson in the UK, Australia, and US collab movie Ammonite (2020) with Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan. And then there is the UK movie God's Own Country (2017). Legend has it to earn the role of Gheorge Ionescu, he had to go through a six-month casting process, during which he was one of 40 actors vying for the role. It’s a good thing persistence paid off, because the role got Alec a nomination for Best Actor at the British Independent Film Awards—and a place on Mr. Man. During the drama romance movie, we see Alec in various stages of undress, including one titillating scene where he’s pantsless, wearing only a sweater, leg up and personal body parts clearly visible (his male companion is sans sweater). An outdoor love scene with said companion also gives us touches of nudity, with the two of them getting dirty in the mud in more ways than one. The film isn’t just pretty to watch, either. It nabbed 32 wins and an additional 40 nominations at various film festivals and award ceremonies throughout the globe, including a nom for Outstanding British Film of the Year at the BAFTA Awards. It also launched Alec fully away from teen musical shows. That’s okay, Mr. Man is happy to sing his praises.
