Awake (2007)

Home viewers will have to keep their eyes wide open to catch any flesh flashed in Awake (2007), not to be confused with The Awakening (1980), Rude Awakening (1998), Species: The Awakening (2007), The Awakening (2011), Wild Awakening (2016), The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch (2019), Spring Awakening: Those You’ve Known (2022) and Buddy Games: Spring Awakening (2023). Under the pen and direction of Joby Harold, this R rated conspiracy flick follows a young billionaire named Clay Beresford (Hayden Christensen) who has to undergo heart surgery. But things take a dark turn when he is on the surgical table and experiences anesthesia awareness. If that’s not unsettling enough, he can hear the doctors talking and what they say is shocking. Long story short, Dr. Harper (Terrence Howard) is going to murder him and take his money!  Can Clay count on help or hindrance from Samantha Lockwood (Jessica Alba)? His mom (Lena Olin)? Dr. Eugene Puttnam (Fisher Stevens)? Dr. Neyer (Arliss Howard)? Dr. Larry Lupin (Christopher McDonald)? Nurse Penny Carver (Georgina Chapman)? Or Dracula (David Harbour)? And will we see Mr. Christensen’s skin? We can’t spoil the twists in the plot but we can tell you Hayden shows off his chest. In fact, the movie begins with a shot of the star shaving in the mirror. In another scene, the hottie steams up the screen when he bares his back while in the sack with Ms. Alba. Suffice it to say, fantasies about seeing a naked Hayden keep Mr. Man wide Awake at night!
