With a BAFTA, SAG, Oscar and two Golden Globes, Sir Ben Kingsley boasts a big… awards shelf! Born to an English mother and a Gujarati father, the British actor could easily play exotic and/or ethnic roles in films such as House of Sand and Fog (2003), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010), The Dictator (2012), and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). This is especially true when it comes to his Academy Award-winning turn as Gandhi (1982) as well as his Oscar nominated portrayal of Itzhak Stern in Schindler's List (1993). In addition to collaborating with Richard Attenborough and Steven Spielberg on the aforementioned movies, Kingsley has worked with director Martin Scorsese on Shutter Island (2010) and Hugo (2011). Since then, Ben could be seen in blockbusters (Iron Man 3, Ender's Game) and heard voicing characters in children’s films (The Boxtrolls, The Jungle Book). Through the years, the prolific pro has lent his powerful presence to the theater (Hamlet, Richard III, Death of a Salesman); motion pictures (Bugsy, Sexy Beast) and television (Coronation Street, Dickens of London). Yet it’s amazing that with so many performances, Kingsley has managed to keep lil’ Ben tucked away. Even more disheartening is the fact that his butt hasn’t made a grand entrance yet. Thankfully Sir’s shirtless self finally emerged in Elegy (2008) and Self/less (2015). Sure, it took a long time to check out his bare chest, but better late than never. Hopefully Kingsley’s future films bring us some nude scenes!
