Clive Standen has a particular set of skills—and they include looking pretty damn awesome without a shirt. Born on a British Army base in Northern Ireland, he moved to and grew up in Leicestershire. It was more than Irish eyes that were smiling when the tall, dark and handsome actor made his big debut on the mystery crime TV drama Waking the Dead (not to be confused with that zombie show; this one’s a BBC thing). The two-episode arc led to recurring roles on shows like Doctors, Doctor Who, and Robin Hood, and a starring role as Gawain in the multi-country Starz series Camelot in 2011. But it was his role as Rollo in Amazon’s Vikingsseries where we got to really appreciate Clive, as he was frequently without a shirt in several of the 45 episodes he appeared in from 2013-2018. And, yes, he’s as built as an Irish lad named Clive should be. In the US, you may recognize this firm-jawed looker as the television version of Bryan Mills in the primetime series Taken from 2017-2018, a role originated by Liam Neeson in the movie of the same name. He’s a little buffer than Liam, though, so his skill set is even better. For a more recent small-screen view of Clive, check out the Jerry Bruckheimer series Council of Dads in 2020, and for a big-screen version of the hottie, see him as William Duncan in the film Vendetta (2022) with Bruce Willis and Thomas Jane. He’s just so skilled!
