Before he was hijacking your television with his appearances on the heavily rotated Allstate Insurance commercials, Dennis Haysbert proved that he’s more than just a booming, soothing voice of reassurance when he dominated the boob tube with recurring roles on popular shows like Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Code Red, Off the Rack, and Just the Ten of Us. Dennis’ time on the big screen seemed to be spent in baseball-related flicks like Major League (1989), Mr. Baseball (1992)—where he teased some bunnage in a humorous locker room shower scene—and Major League II (1994), and Major League: Back to the Minors (1998). Off of the baseball diamond, Dennis scored big roles on the shows Now and Again, 24, and The Unit, where he showed off his shirtless body. Too bad we didn’t see his unit!
