Doctor Who (2005)

The English Sci-Fi epic that has not only spanned over 26 seasons, but has also transcended super-fandom for decades and generations with followers who are some of the most loyal in the world, Doctor Who!  This series actually began it's initial run back in 1963 and has followed the love-able titular "Time Lord" who is simply referred to as "The Doctor".  To date, there have been 13 different actors who have portrayed the lead Doctor in the series and everyone who follows has their favorite.  They also have their favorite villains, be it the Daleks, Davros, Cybermen, The Master, you name it.  This series follows the Time Lord who has fled his home planet of Gallifrey in a "Tardis" (Time and Relative Dimension in Space) or better explained as a space time machine that looks like a blue British "police box", but is the vehicle of endless adventures as the Doctor slips through space and time.  The Doctor's many incarnations choose to stop wherever history or events seem to have grand importance to our world and with an ever changing band of companions over the years, they help stop the forces of universal evil from destroying history or harming innocents in whatever point in time they stop.  The series has been a jump off point for countless actor's careers including David Tennant, Matt Smith, Jodie Whittaker, Christopher Eccleston and John Barrowman, just to name a few.  It's one of the few television shows that has stood the test of time and impacted culture on so many levels.  Literally, the first episode premiere was delayed by 10 minutes because of JFK's assassination in 1963, has had countless spin-off movies, is a staple of pop culture at comic conventions around the globe, and is worshipped by some of the biggest names in show business to this day!
