The One (2021)

The UK series The One dropped on Netflix in March of 2021 and asks the question, "Would you give your DNA to a dating service if they could guarantee you a perfect partner in return?" The show's premise is basically such that a DNA researcher stumbles upon a way to use DNA as the foundation for a radical new approach to matchmaking. Of course, giving out such personal information to a dating service doesn't seem that far fetched in our era of over sharing, but the implications of such of a discovery certainly seem to err on the side of sinister. As more and more adventurous souls give in to their desire to find "The One," the service begins to seem like an absolute god send and a game changer in the world of love and relationships. Naturally, that soon gives way to some sordid affairs that begin to put anyone who used the service in jeopardy, not just in their new relationships, but in basically all avenues of their lives! The show's first season wasn't as skin-filled as we've come to expect from Netflix shows, particularly ones filmed outside of the puritanical United States, but there was one fully nude scene that grabbed our attention! Nudecomer Paul Brennen bares all in episode eight while cleaning up in a communal shower, just beware because he meets a fairly bloody end in said shower! There's also some steamy shirtless action from such hotties as Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Miguel Amorim, and Albano Jerónimo sprinkled throughout the first season! You'll be slinging some DNA of your own, if you catch our drift!
