Britannia (2018-2021)

Julius Caesar invaded Britannia, only to be turned away by the Celtic tribes that proved far tougher to conquer than anyone could've imagined. Ashamed at their failure, ninety years later a group of Romans set out for redemption in Sky UK and Amazon Prime's Britannia. Taking place in 43 AD, for three seasons viewers followed Aulus Plautius (David Morrissey) as he tried to restore Rome's reputation as an unstoppable fighting force. Aulus wants to both avenge Caesar's failure and get his hands on all the tin that Brittania has to offer, but he's a bit savvier than Caesar. While Julius thought he'd roll into Britannia and take over via brute force, Aulus is all about playing the local tribes against each other. There are the druids: masters of magic led by a creepy creature named Veran (Mackenzie Crook), the Regni, a Celtic tribe led by Antedia (Zoe Wanamaker) and their enemies the Cantii, led by King Pellanor (Ian McDiarmid). If the Romans want to rule, they need to figure out who to fight, who to ally themselves with, and how to deal with all this weird witchcraft the druids use against their enemies. These days the Brits are known for their stiff upper lips, but back then there was nothing prim and proper about these uncivilized guys!Early on in the show, Julian Rhind-Tutt shows off his bare ass while he squats over a pond, Barry Ward is shirtless in a field, plus Aaron Pierre and David Morrissey go for a shirtless swim.
