Dolemite Is My Name (2019)

In the 1970s, comedian/singer/actor Rudy Ray Moore played a pimp named Dolemite in the blaxploitation flicks Dolemite (1975) and The Human Tornado (1976). During the 1990s, he reprised the role for the short film  Murder Was the Case: The Movie (1995) and on an episode of the sitcom Martin (1996). By the 2000s, Moore was at it again in the comedies Big Money Hustlas (2000) and The Return of Dolemite (2002). Just when we thought we saw the last of the character, he popped up again in the form of the biopic Dolemite Is My Name (2019). Under the direction of Craig (Hustle & Flow) Brewer, this R rated movie has Eddie Murphy playing the title role alongside Bob Odenkirk as Lawrence Woolner; Wesley Snipes as D’Urville Martin; Aleksandar Filimonović as Joseph Bihari; and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nicholas Josef Von Sternberg. The movie also includes Craig Robinson, Chris Rock, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Keegan-Michael Key, Mike Epps, Milan Carter, Snoop Dogg, Tituss Burgess, Tip “T.I.” Harris, and Mr. Murphy’s bare chest! Perhaps that’s why the funnyman was named Best Actor by the African-American Film Critics Association and at the Black Reel Awards. Of course, the real prize goes to his body double who flashed his flesh in this flick. Just 27 minutes into the pic, he bares his black back and ebony buns. By the 01:34:50 mark, the nude dude displays his naked T&A during a scene that shows a film within a film. Suffice it to say, this body double is cheeky!
