Eastbound & Down (2009-2013)

Jody Hill and Danny McBride first made their mark on Hollywood with the acclaimed independent comedy about a grown man karate instructor The Foot Fist Way (2006), but HBO's Eastbound & Down was truly their magnum opus. Airing for four seasons from 2009 to 2013, McBride played Kenny Powers, a washed-up, dumb, racist, drug loving but deeply patriotic former MLB pitcher who lost his fastball. After bouncing around the league and insulting every city that he played for, Kenny is cut from his team and has to return home to teach phys-ed at the local middle school. For a man with "an arm like a damn rocket, a cock like a burmese python, and the mind of a fucking scientist" who used to scream "you're fucking out" after every K, it's a hit on the ego. But Kenny's convinced he can win back his busty ex-girlfriend April (Katy Mixon) and work his way back into the league by doing steroids, writing a memoir, and all sorts of other terrible ideas. Alongside his sidekick Stevie (Steve Little) Kenny will head to Mexico to try and make his money playing South of the Border ball, head to Myrtle Beach to work his way up from the Minors, and finally make his mark doing TV commentary. This one was full of riotous moments and over-the-top raunchiness, so there were a few solid moments of nudity. While no cameo will ever top Will Ferrell's insane car dealership owner Ashley Schaeffer, in season four, Sacha Baron Cohen shows up as a disgusting TV executive looking to offer Kenny a job. He sits on a plane with a blanket on his lap, then asks a flight attendant to take it off for him. That gives the flight attendant a big surprise: a good look at his massive dong. It's clearly a prosthetic, but if you squint hard enough you can pretend it's the real deal and do your own reaching towards southbound and down!
