Nowadays, Yanks in the United States may not know of Gérard Zalcberg but European audiences probably yanked over the actor in the 1980s and ’90s. Back then, the foreign performer popped up on France’s big (Bleu comme l’enfer, Coïncidences) and small (Black Sequence, Sueurs froides) screens. Through the years, he exposed his wide … range in the swashbuckling romp Le fou du roi (1984); the romantic drama L’amour braque (1985) with Sophie Marceau; the musical fantasy Parking (1985); the crime flick The Fugitives (1986) with Gérard Depardieu; and the comedy The Sun Sisters (1997). In between, the global guy could be seen in the hybrid thrillers Cross (1987) from France/Canada and Jesús Franco’s Faceless (1988) from France/Spain as well as the British/French farce The Favour, the Watch and the Very Big Fish (1991) starring Jeff Goldblum, Bob Hoskins, and Natasha Richardson. Of course, we prefer the French/German production The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Miss Osbourne (1981). Also known as Docteur Jekyll et les femmes, the sexy chiller diller features Udo Kier, Marina Pierro, Patrick Magee, and Gérard’s skin. Nothing scary about that! In one scene, the nude dude displays his hairy chest and a bit of balls while getting out of the bath. If that’s not arousing enough, Mr. Zalcberg later wields a prosthetic peen to bang a lady from behind. Alas, the actor hasn’t flashed his flesh since then. Overall, it appears Gérard was more tease than please. But at least, we can catch his sack in freeze frame!
