Good Luck, Miss Wyckoff (1979)

Good Luck, Miss Wyckoff (1979) was directed by Marvin J. Chomsky and written by the incredibly Polly Platt (based on the novel by William Inge who also gave us Picnic and Splendor in the Grass, so he knows melodrama), this story takes place in in a small 1956 Kansas town named Freedom where a white single schoolteacher finds her freedom after she grapples with her traumatic past which she blames for her singlehood. A young black janitor comes onto her one day after school and she initially resists it, but he presses on daily. The two begin a sexual relationship that she feels ashamed of. She doesn't want this scandal to break, but she might not be able to hide it long in this very small Kansas town. Anne Heywood plays Miss Wycock, but we aren't here for this emotionally explosive actress. We're here for the sexy young black guy she gets involved with. Tall, dark, and handsome John Lafayette plays Rafe Collins, the young black janitor who strips down fully naked from head to cock. He presents his penis to her in the classroom and we get to see it. These sexually graphic scenes are such a shock considering they came from 1979 in a mainstream drama, but low and behold there are cock and balls in a bed of black pubes.
