Henry Gamble's Birthday Party (2015)

More than gifts will be unwrapped in Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party (2015). Not to be confused with David’s Birthday (2009), Stephen Cone’s R rated film takes place over the course of 24 hours. It’s the 17th birthday for David (Cole Doman), a closeted homosexual and active member of a church run by his preacher dad (Pat Healy). David’s older sister Autumn (Nina Ganet) recently agreed to be deflowered yet has regrets about her decision, while her mother Kat (Elizabeth Laidlaw) is glad she cheated and will soon be leaving her husband. In other words, against the backdrop of Henry’s pool party, this coming of age drama reveals many of the secret issues the guests are dealing with. There’s Aaron (Tyler Ross), Cooper (Spencer Curnutt), Jon (Jack Ball), Keith (Travis Knight), and overreaching camp chaperone Ricky Matthews (Patrick Andrews). The latter has a nervous breakdown in the bathroom. Talk about a party pooper! Indeed, when he takes a dump, we can see part of his cock as he gets up from the toilet. Meanwhile, party guest Logan (Daniel Kyri) has unreciprocated feelings for Henry. Nevertheless, he and Mr. Doman lay shirtless together in a semi-Biblical sense. To paraphrase the Lesley Gore song, it’s Cole’s party and he’ll strip if he wants to. During an earlier scene, the shirtless dude and an equally undressed Joe Keery jerk off in bed together. Unfortunately, we don’t see much yet we can imagine everything. But when Cole turns 18, it will be a birthday gift to us!
