Herman Kopp is a German born composer, musician, and occasional actor who was a member of the German electro-industrial band Keine Ahnung. He released two minimalist vinyl records in the 80s before moving on to score experimental cult horror director Jörg Buttgereit's Nekromantik (1987), followed by Nekromantik 2 (1990). In between these two gorefests was Der Todesking or The Death King (1989) which Herman not only scored with his brand of uneasy and haunting atmospheres, wavering atonal strings, unsteady slow motion rhythms, moog synth spasms, and straight up noise; he also appeared in the day of the week horror anthology sequence titled "Montag" or Monday, which he must not like, since the film depicts him drowning himself in his bathtub after ingesting a lethal dosage of pills. The sequence was intended to be a reference to German politician Uwe Barschel who was found dead in the bathtub of a hotel in Geneva, after a scandal that became known as “Waterkantgate”. Herman shows us a brief glimpse of his manhood and a peek at his butt before taking the plunge.
