Son of Arnold Spirtas, who owns his own wrecking company and appeared as himself in the 2010 video documentary The Haunted Boy: The Secret Diary of the Exorcist, Kevin Spirtas inherited his father’s taste for show business, but not for hard hats and tool belts. But now that we think of it, Kevin does put a hard hat in our tool belts, so maybe there’s a connection there after all.
Going from wrecking balls to roller coasters, Kevin began his career in entertainment in 1980, appearing on stage as a song and dance man in the Palace Show at the popular amusement park Six Flags over Mid-America. His performance in the show’s electrifying closing number, "One Step", made Kevin a star in St. Louis and soon he was packing his bags for the Big Apple.
After getting his start on the Great White Way, Kevin soon transitioned into television, getting small roles on shows like the classic 80s sitcom The Facts of Life, the Scott Bakula sci-fi comedy Quantum Leap, and the flesh-filled sexy series Valley of the Dolls, based on the novel by Jacqueline Susann, and from 1999 until 2009 he portrayed Dr. Craig Wesley on the long-running daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. Kevin has also appeared in a number of horror movies, including The Hills Have Eyes Part II (1984), Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988), Bloodstone: Subspecies II (1993), and Bloodlust: Subspecies III (1994). We’re scared stiff!
