Mata Hari (1985)

Cannon Pictures was never known for cranking out high quality, well researched historical epics, so take the fact that their film Mata Hari (1985) bills itself as "based on a true story" with a huge grain of salt! Cannon regular Sylvia Kristel stars as the titular dancer who, right before the breakout of WWI, travels from her native France to Germany to perform. After being arrested by the German police, she is released on the condition that she will return to France and work as a spy for the Germans. For a while, she is able to play both sides against one another, but soon finds it difficult to maintain this double life. Like virtually all Cannon Pictures productions, the nudity is very firmly female focused, but Oliver Tobias does give us a peek at his cheeks while banging Kristel, while the aptly named Christopher Cazenove goes shirtless!
