His acting career began in New York on the stage, pausing to do commercial spots for MTV, VH1, and McDonald’s, as well as campaigns for Puma and The Meth Project. He began popping up in primetime in 2012, playing Guy in an episode ofBunheads, followed by pop-ups as Rex inGood Luck Charlie, Jess inGrey’s Anatomy, Carlos Villegas inCastle, Chase Austin inRosewood, Ramon inFantasy Island, Seaman Brandon Elger inNCIS: Los Angeles, Henry inDynasty, and Ben Perez inWalker. Matt’s big-screen debut was playing Wayne in the Reese Witherspoon-ledWild(2014). Playing the character Raul (and featured on one of the film’s posters!), Matt is bare-chested on a regular basis, wearing only tiny blue undies and sometimes just a sheet. He’s involved in some pretty hot sex scenes with his boyfriend, and he’s just generally a cutie who somehow gets cuter when he giggles at the word gigolo. Matt also has the distinction of being an alum of the ABC Discovers Talent Showcase, which has included Lupita Nyong’o, Gina Rodriguez, and Chadwick Boseman in the past.
