Most know the hilarious and handsome Sir Michael Palin for his member … ship to the Monty Python franchise. With his Oxford University alum and writing partner Terry Jones (Ripping Yarns), Palin could be seen alongside Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Eric Idle on the cult comedy series Monty Python’s Flying Circus (1969-1974) and its cinematic spinoffs Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979), Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life (1983), and Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl (1982), all of which he also wrote. Palin then popped up in Gilliam’s flicks Time Bandits (1981), Brazil (1985), and Jabberwocky (1977). The latter includes a view of Mike’s nude booty but none of his jabberwanky. Luckily, Michael bared his butt again in the miniseries GBH (1991). Needless to say, Mr. Man thinks the title is an acronym for “Great Body Hottie.” When Palin co-starred in the Cleese vehicle A Fish Called Wanda (1988), he won a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor! In addition to writing and starring in the truth-based movies The Missionary (1982) and American Friends (1991), Palin portrayed Russian politician Vyacheslav Molotov in the satire The Death of Stalin (2017). But it’s his hosting duties for the BBC travel series Pole to Pole (1992) that have us over the moon.
