My Brother, My Sister (2021)

Family is a funny thing and the more we try to run away from family, the more we find ourselves running into a complete circle right back into the arms of that same family. The Italian Netflix Original dramedy My Brother, My Sister (2021) deals with the pain of estrangement and the healing power of familial reconciliation. Tesla (Claudia Pandolfi) has spent the last twenty years taking care of her invalid father in the absence of her brother Nick (Alessandro Preziosi) who left home when things got rough. Tesla is now living alone with her two mostly grown children, Ambra (Giorgia Crivello) and Sebastiano (Francesco Cavallo), when her father suddenly passes away. At the funeral, Nick makes a grand entrance not only to the event, but back into the life of his sister who had moved on without him. Thinking he'll be gone in a few days, Tesla doesn't pay Nick much mind, but all of that changes when they discover that their father left his estate to both of them equally under the condition they live together under one roof as one big happy family. Now, Nick must finally learn how to grow up, become an adult, and stop running away from all of his problems. He also needs to stop hanging out naked in the bathroom when his sister and nephew are in the house, which happens in one of the film's funniest scenes where we see Alessandro Preziosi's bare ass and man bush as he has a nude chat with his family in the bathroom!
