Based on Homer's The Odyssey, The Return (2024) is a faithful adaptation of the tale from Italian director Uberto Pasolini. Ralph Fiennes stars as Odysseus, hero of the Trojan War, who washes up naked on the shore of his homeland of Ithaca after twenty years away fighting. Fiennes gives us a much more haunted version of this hero, one burdened by the things he has seen and done in the war, a man who will be almost unrecognizable to his wife Penelope (Juliette Binoche). Discovered and nursed back to health by pig farmer Eumaeus (Claudio Santamaria), Odysseus will now have to fight his way back home, hopefully before Penelope is married off to one of the many suitors courting her. Now, remember when we said that Ralph Fiennes washes up nude on shore... that does happen, but unfortunately he manages to keep his best bits hidden. HOWEVER, just five minutes later, Ralph Fiennes fully nude stands in the doorway of Eumaeus' hut, hanging dong in broad daylight in one of the best A-list full frontal shots of the 2020s! We have a feeling you'll Return to that scene again and again!
