A Journal for Jordan (2021)

A Journal for Jordan (2021) is a tender and emotional film directed by Denzel Washington and starring Michael B. Jordan. Based on a true story, the film follows Sgt. Charles Monroe King (Jordan) as he is deployed to Iraq just after finding out that his fiancée Dana Canedy (Chanté Adams) is pregnant. Uncertain of whether or not he'll live to raise his son, he begins keeping a journal—hence the film's title—with advice on how to be a good man despite potentially growing up without a father. The film jumps around in time, keeping the audience guessing as to whether or not Charles will make it home to see his son, so we won't spoil the particulars for you here.
