The Inspection (2022)

The Inspection is a harrowing yet ultimately heartwarming story of a gay man who joins the Marines when he feels all hope of being accepted at home is lost. The beautiful Jeremy Pope plays our gay Marine Ellis French, and while certainly assimilating into a machismo environment is not easy for any gay man, French is able to navigate the ups and downs of being a marine and find friendship in the unlikeliest of places. Of course, we're here for that scene. Yes, that one. In a unique and candid depiction of what it might be like for a gay man to be in a military situation, the sex-starved French lets imagination get the best of him, and he ends up daydreaming about his comrades while in the shower. This sexy fantasy causes French to get an erection in the shower! Sadly homophobia prevails and the other men who witness French's erection beat him up. Again, for as many times as we've seen similar stories depicted on screen, The Inspection managed to surprise even us with this shocking moment. Hey French, nice baguette!
