We (2018)

Ah, what to do during the summer when you're a bored teen stuck in a boring border town between the Netherlands and Belgium? In the USA you'd probably chill at the mall, play some videogames, or if you're feeling really crazy go drink in the woods. But the Dutch must be different, if the movie We aka Wij (2018) is any indication. The film takes you on a wild journey, where a bunch of bored kids opt to break the day-to-day doldrums of having nothing to do with doing it in all sorts of crazy ways! With an ever-escalating series of dares between the group of friends, they find themselves going down the rabbit hole of experimentation, curious sexual liaisons, low rent crimes, and the deepest and darkest side of their own moral turpitude. These kids aren't scared to try anything, including sexing each other down in a full-on un-simulated porn shoot, where the actors are really having sex! They also dabble in prostitution, blackmail, dog-napping, and more and more crimes as they push themselves further and further away from social norms. Yes, it's going to end with hurt feelings and a recognition that sexual freedom comes at a cost, but not before all the male leads get fully nude at one point or another! Tijmen Govaerts, Folkert Verdoorn, Friso van der Werf, and Aimé Claeys all go buck naked quite a bit, whether they're just lounging bareass in the grass or filming some amateur porn like Folkert does. Aime has a scene where a girl slobs all over his knob for a while, and even though he's not a youth Tom van Bauwel throws in a full frontal shot as well! Top notch! This flick pushed some serious boundaries on the festival circuits when it first premiered and now that it has come stateside, it's "in your face" Harmony Korine-esque style will kick your horniness up a level with its hot young stars! We approve of the nudity but wish some of the boys tried some man on man!
