Ryan Murphy often finds his actors in some pretty unusual places, and in 2024 he pluched Nicholas Alexander Chavez out of daytime soap obscurity to play an important role in his true crime series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Nicholas appeared in hundreds of episodes of General Hospital between 2021 and 2024, but got his big break portraying one of the notorious Mendez brothers, Lyle. The Houston native had big shoes to fill, as Murphy's previous Monster series, about Jeffrey Dahmer, starred none other than Murphy's main muse Evan Peters. Nicholas proved to be up to the task. He gets naked for a handful of salacious scenes, but none more salacious than when he's caught in the shower fondling his brother Erik (Cooper Koch)! Nicholas rose to the top of daytime by winning an Emmy for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series for General Hospital, and we can only imagine the accolades he will receive for Monsters.
