Obsession (2026)

We meet Bear (Michael Johnston) as he’s trying to work up the courage to tell his friend and co-worker Nikki (Inde Navarrette) that he has a crush on her. His friend Ian (Cooper Tomlinson), who also works with Bear and Nikki, along with Sarah (Megan Lawless) at Sarah’s father’s (Andy Richter) music store, is supportive but raises concerns that a confession of love will ruin the vibe of the group’s Wednesday night pub trivia outings. Bear’s awkwardness wins over, and despite many opportunities, he still can’t bring himself to tell Nikki about his feelings. When he learns from Nikki that she lost her crystal necklace, Bear heads to a metaphysical apothecary to buy her a new one, but instead decides to purchase her a One Wish Willow, which claims all the user need do is snap it while making a wish, and it will come true. After another failed attempt to come clean with Nikki, Bear, in his frustration, makes a wish on the One Wish Willow himself. But instead of asking for the ability to talk to Nikki, he wishes that Nikki would love him more than anyone else in the world. Hey, remember in Aladdin where the genie says one of his rules is he can’t make anybody fall in love with anybody? Well, now we know why. Bear’s wish works, sort of: he and Nikki do, in fact, start dating, but Nikki’s behavior gets more and more disturbing as the film goes on, because, as it turns out, it’s not really Nikki that he’s with. The real Nikki, who only had sisterly feelings for Bear, is still in there, fighting to come out and basically being tortured as this nightmare scenario goes on. Even when Bear realizes this, he’d rather be with crazy, possessive, violent Nikki than no Nikki, and so his cowardice leads the couple and their friend group down a dangerous, destructive path. While Bear may be shy, Michael the actor is not, and he proves it by making his nude debut here! We see his thrustin’ buns for the first time as he bangs his less-than-enthusiastic partner in bed. His ass is so fine, consider us obsessed!
