Paris, 13th District (2021)

Acclaimed French director Jacques Audiard (Rust and Bone, The Sisters Brothers) returns with his tenth feature film Paris, 13th District (2021) which debuted at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. Bringing together some of the hottest actors in French cinema at the moment, the film chronicles the lives and sexual encounters among a quartet of singles whose lives intersect in interesting ways. Émilie (Lucie Zhang) is a call center operator having trouble making ends meet, so she agrees to take on a roommate in a doctoral student named Camille (Makita Samba). Although Émilie's attraction to Camille is nearly instantaneous, Camille only has eyes for Nora (Noémie Merlant), a graduate student attending the same school as Camille. Nora, meanwhile, has problems of her own, not least of which is the fact that she is constantly mistaken for camgirl Amber (Jehnny Beth). You might assume that a film about one man fighting off the advances of three women might not hold much appeal, but the studly Makita Samba shows off every square inch of his naked body in this flick, even sporting an erection in one scene! We wouldn't mind doing the Samba with Makita!
