Like Irishman Liam Cunningham, Scottish hotties Martin Compston and Peter Mullan owe much of their success to English filmmaker Ken Loach. The same can be said for Paul Brannigan. The Glasgow native got off to a rough start in life, getting lost in petty crimes and gang violence. But, thankfully, Paul was able to turn his life around when he turned to acting. Mr. Brannigan’s big break came when Mr. Loach cast him as Robbie in the dark comedy The Angels’ Shar (2012). In addition to audiences, critics and colleagues were impressed with Paul’s authentic performance which merited the Creative Scotland Award for Rising Star and a Best Actor BAFTA Scotland Award. Never one to rest on his laurels, Paul conquered TV via the Scottish soap opera River City (2012-2013) and the Irish drama Love/Hate (2014). The busy bloke maintained his presence on the big screen, exposing his range in Dexter Fletcher’s romantic musical Sunshine (2013) and the British sci-fi drama Beyond (2014). In between, all of Paul could be seen in the thriller Under the Skin (2013) wherein he reveals his abs, ass, sack and erect shaft while doing an eerie dance with sexpot Scarlett Johansson. Next came the UK comedy Scottish Mussel (2015) featuring Talulah Riley, Morgan Watkins, Joe Thomas, Emun Elliott, and Brannigan’s bizarre bathing trunks. If that’s not titillating enough, the wiry guy also shows off his slender chest. Granted, it’s during a silly scene but that doesn’t mean it didn’t heighten our interest — among other things!
