We can’t confuse actor Paul Clemens with the professional baseball pitcher of the same name — no matter how much we’d love to score with him. Nor can we think he’s the same-named journalist — despite wanting to take him to bed. Instead, we must judge the Hollywood hunk on his own assets. If you were a teenager during the 1980s, you’ll probably recall Paul for his buggy role in the frightening film The Beast Within (1982). The R-rated movie didn’t include shots of Paul’s beast, but audience members got to view the good looking dude with his shirt off. And that image was enough to bring out the beast in us. You could say Mr. Clemens scared the pants off of Mr. Man! Clemens continued to lend his sexy presence to scary movies. Check him out in the eerie sci-fi flick Communion (1989) starring Christopher Walken; the direct-to-video chiller diller Monsters of the UFO (2005); and the humorous horror short The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon (2008). Through the years, Paul appeared in other films (Continuity, Promises in the Dark, The Sound of Spying, Spoon Wars) including The Passage (1979) with Anthony Quinn, Malcolm McDowell, and Christopher Lee. Paul also popped up on television shows (Murder, She Wrote; The Ray Bradbury Theater; Quincy M.E.) and TV movies (A Death in Canaan, The Family Man, and If I Love You, Am I Trapped Forever?). Yes, the boob tube is one way of entering our homes — and our fantasies!
