The Beast Within (1982)

One of the last true drive-in classics, The Beast Within (1982) spins the horrific tale of a woman (Bibi Besch) who gets assaulted and subsequently knocked-up by a giant insect-creature. She blocks out the memory and raises the boy, who seems to be a normal child. Seventeen years later, Junior (Paul Clemens) begins a metamorphosis into a monster-bug like the one that spawned him and, again like his pop, he falls under the sway of the sinister urge to find a female victim and propagate his species. The Beast Within features veteran character actor Ronny Cox, who has appeared in some of the most important films of our time, including Beverly Hills Cop (1984), RoboCop (1987), and Never Give Up: The Jimmy V Story (1996).

You’ll be bugging out when you see Paul Clemens shuck his shirt to get a closer look at his skin-scabbing transformation. John Dennis Johnston reminds us what a real man looks like, back before the days of manscaping. The hunky actor has so much hair on his chest, it looks like he’s hiding a beast within. Sexy!
