Review

Welcome back to the sleeper little New England town of Salem's Lot, where you can find plenty of small town appeal.  Antique shops, good schools, reasonably priced home, oh, and of course a pretty hefty population of blood sucking vampires!  In this direct sequel to the 1979 mini-series Salem's Lot, we see a little bit more behind the curtain of the neck biters and their plans for the future.  When the anthropologist Joe Weber (Michael Moriarty) decides to take his son on a trip around New England for the summer, they land in the town of Salem's Lot, unaware of it's creepy Nosferatu-esque monster majority and think that they've found a place they could eventually call home.  As they begin to cruise around the town, learn about it's long history and befriend some of the inhabitants, the vamps begin to slowly reveal themselves to the father & son team of anthropologists.  Instead of cornering them and doing what you'd expect of these ghouls, they instead try to employ Joe to write a biblical interpretation of their lives, folklore, and help them forma  new religion around their vampire culture!  Who would have thought that a doctorate in anthropology is are just as effective against vampires than some holy water or garlic?  From the creepy original story by Stephen King, we don't really get the classic 80s horror flick levels of nudity, but we do get a shirtless Michael Moriarty and Brad Rijn for your viewing pleasure in this classic creature feature sequel!
