There have already been a number of devastating celebrity deaths this year, and it’s only February. The most recent is actor Eric Dane, who passed away at age fifty-three just ten months after announcing he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Eric is most known for his breakout role on the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. Costar Patrick Dempsey may have already been dubbed McDreamy, but Eric’s Dr. Mark Sloan upped the hotness level on the series so much they had to give him his own spicy nickname, McSteamy, making Eric not just a fan fave (taking him from guest to main character) but a boner fide sex symbol.

The same year he debuted on Grey’s, Eric bared his buns for the first time in the ocean thriller Open Water 2: Adrift. Mr. Dane’s derriere is on display while he’s swimming around not wearing a stitch.

For a while after it seemed that Eric was saving his best nudity for home, especially after a private sex tape with him, his wife Rebecca Gayheart, and a former beauty queen was leaked to the public. Then after teasing us with his shirtless torso in rom coms like 2010’s Valentine’s Day, Eric would strip down again on screen in 2019 on the HBO series Euphoria.

Not wanting to continuously be typecast, Eric took a big swing playing Cal Jacobs, the closeted bisexual father of Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs. But it paid off and Euphoria became an Emmy-winning success, thanks in no small part ot Eric’s portrayal of a man with some dark secrets. His body isn’t one of them though, as Eric sports a prosthetic erection while in a motel room with a teen he met on a hookup app in the premiere episode.

After his death, it was revealed that Eric had finished filming his scenes for Euphoria’s long-awaited third season, so it looks like we’ll get one last chance to bask in this Dane’s greatness.
