It hardly feels like a holiday unless we’re streaming a Garry Marshall movie. Before the filmmaker released the seasonal flicks Mother’s Day (2016) and New Year’s Eve (2011), he directed Valentine’s Day (2010). Even though this romantic dramedy was a critical miss, it was a big financial hit. Set on February 14th, the ensemble piece follows several couples celebrating the day in various ways. Unbeknownst to Pamela (Katherine LaNasa), her cardiothoracic surgeon spouse (Patrick Dempsey) is sharing his heart (and another part of his anatomy) with a school teacher (Jennifer Garner). Meanwhile, the geriatric generation is facing relationship issues as seen in the exchange between Edgar (Héctor Elizondo) and Estelle (Shirley MacLaine). No wonder publicist Kara Monahan (Jessica Biel) is planning her “I Hate Valentine’s Day” party. Yet we bet she falls for sports reporter Kelvin Moore (Jamie Foxx) before the decorations are hung up. Meanwhile, Jason (Topher Grace) is unhappy to discover his girlfriend (Anne Hathaway) is working as a phone sex operator. Luckily for her, he forgives her. Luckily for us, he struts his shirtless self in a pair of boxer shorts. Speaking of revealing secrets as well as skin, closeted gay footballer Sean Jackson (Eric Dane) comes out on national TV. Too bad the topless hunk didn’t fully come out of his towel. The movie also includes Ashton Kutcher, Bradley Cooper, Emma Roberts, Jessica Alba, Julia Roberts, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, and the pecs on Carter Jenkins. He plays guitar in the nude while Mr. Man plays with himself!
