The one and only Robert Shaw was an absolute legend when he was alive and well. Born in the late 20s in Lancashire, England, this young man was originally slated to become an athlete. He played rugby and squash and was offered a scholarship to Cambridge to pursue a medical career much like his parents. However, he did not want to get into medicine and he dropped his schooling in order to pursue acting. He was already living in London when he began taking acting classes and showing up on London stages. He even went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and from there toured the world acting in Shakespearean dramas. He had his first taste of film success when he appeared in The Lavender Hill Mob which was all he needed to get his movie career up and running. From there he starred in Diamonds (1975), Robin and Marian (1976), The Deep (1977), Black Sunday (1977), A Man for All Seasons (1966), Battle of the Bulge (1965), The Luck of Ginger Coffey (1964), The Sting (1973), Jaws (1975) as Quint. He also famously played Red in From Russia with Love in which he showed us the love by going shirtless and showing off his burly, glistening chest with a white towel wrapped around his waist. Delicious! He looks sexy and strapping in this role. His final film was Avalanche Express in 1979 before he passed away in Ireland from a sudden heart attack. He will forever be missed and forever be adored.
