After making his small screen debut on the Australian medical drama All Saints (2007), Sam was cast as Prince Harry in the TV movie The Taking of Prince Harry (2010). The regal Reid then portrayed the Earl of Essex in the big screen period piece Anonymous (2011) with Rhys Ifans, Vanessa Redgrave, Rafe Spall, and David Thewlis.
