Biography

If you got here by typing in Lil Bow Wow, don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place. Shad Moss is his actual given name, while the dog-driven title is his musical moniker. At the ripe age of eleven, while most kids his age were striking out in Little League, skinning their knees, and throwing rocks at passing trains, Shad was hitting the stage, spitting out rhymes and wowing concert goers with his charm and smoothness (hence the “wow” in his name). Two years later, the little fellow dropped his first album and the rest is history. While his fans were bouncing with him, Shad was burning through puberty, releasing albums and hit singles with the greatest of ease. Like all rap stars, the Ohio native had a hankering to get into the acting business, a desire that came to fruition when he made a guest appearance on the popular series Moesha. Once the handsome star got bit by the acting bug, he made the jump to appearing in films, scoring roles in All About the Benjamins (2002), Like Mike (2002), Johnson Family Vacation (2004), and Roll Bounce (2005). He rolled himself right into a recurring role on HBO’s Entourage, which eventually led to a regular role on the primetime series Are We There Yet? From 2010-2012, and then one as Brody Nelson on the police procedural CSI: Cyberwhere, on season one, episode two, Shad showed off his ab-tastic body while rollin’ outside to check on his screaming car alarm. Back in 2006, he also scored the role of Twinkie in The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift, a role he reprised in 2021 in F9. And yes, he still does the music thing, only now he goes by Bow Wow—given he’s not so little anymore.
