Our Staff Picks column is a new addition that takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version has a decidedly nude angle, as we suss out which films from a certain genre with great nudity. This week: 1990s sci-fi!
Sci-fi is wildly popular, but in the 1990s there was something very sexy going on: nudity. I don't know why, but 90s sci-fi really enjoyed showing naked men in the buff.
Fortress
Hey, who wants to see Christopher Lambert's balls? We do! In 1992's Fortress, Christopher Lambert plays a man who is arrested along with his wife at US imigration after it is discovered that they have a non-state-sanctioned baby during the law of population control. They go to a prison that practices mind control, but there is no controling Mr. Lambert in the buff!

Paul Verhoeven does not disappoint when it comes to nudity, so when he directed Starship Troopers in 1997 we should have all known that we were in for a surprise. This 1997 film is all about DNA and whether people are good or bad based on their genetic makeup that makes them valid or invalid humans. It's a 90s classic for sure. Personally, I am a big fan of the DNA sci-fi thriller Gattaca and part of the reason for that is Ethan Hawke's nudity. Twelve Monkeys
Finally, Twelve Monkeys was one of the most exciting sci-fi flicks of the 1990s. Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt both starred in this film about a man sent back in time to figure out what started an epidemic that ended up killing most of the human race in the future. He goes back in time and tries to figure out how to stop it all, but he is sent too far back and things get complicated.
