The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)

Spooky Season 2023 got a lot spookier with the Netflix original series The Fall Of The House Of Usher, which comes from Mike Flanagan - the man behind other scary Netflix hits like The Haunting Of Hill House and Midnight Mass. As the title suggests, the series is based loosely on the writings of Edgar Allen Poe. The Fall Of The House Of Usher is about duplicitous siblings who built their fortune in pharmaceuticals. Their family dynasty is inspired, ostensibly, by the Sackler family. The siblings get their comeuppance when their family members drop like flies under mysterious and spooky circumstances. This series from Flanagan goes further than any of his other shows. The House of Usher isn't the only thing falling. Pants are falling too! In the series' best scene, Fox Brewster and Jaiden Lanji-Brown lend their nude bodies to a morning-after shot of a crazy orgy. They each play extras, and boy are they extra with the nudity.
