The Fault in Our Stars (2014)

Adapted from John Green’s young adult best seller of the same name, The Fault in Our Stars (2014) follows Hazel (Shailene Woodley), a sixteen-year old chick stricken with thyroid cancer that has metastasized in to her lungs, which ultimately leads to a terminal diagnosis. Under the pushes and prodding of her parents (Laura Dern and Sam Trammell) and her doctor (Ana Dela Cruz), Hazel attends a cancer support group at the local church. It is there where the soon-to-be-dead dame crosses paths with Gus (Ansel Elgort), a handsome teen that is also dealing with his own oncological issues, so much so that it has led to him getting his right leg amputated. A shared glance leads to a movie date, which eventually leads to the cancer-inflicted teens going on an emotional journey of discover. It’s all fun and games until cancer trumps Gus and Hazel’s romance, tearfully extinguishing the glimmer of light in their stars. In between all the death and sadness, Ansel Elgort emerges to show off his buff body while he gets hot and heavy with his co-star. There’s certainly no fault in Ansel’s physique!
