The Final Girls (2015) is a comedic horror movie send-up that deconstructs slasher flick tropes through a unique plot twist. Max (Taissa Farmiga) is a high school senior with a famous 80’s scream queen as her mother, Amanda (Malin Akerman). After the death of her mother and the bizarre events following, both women are transported into one of Amanda’s most famous horror movies. With the help of some man meat, the group must navigate the tropes – such as any woman who takes off her shirt will be killed – in order to survive!
