The Grief Tourist (2013)

The psychological-thriller The Grief Tourist (2013) follows security guard Jim Tahana (Michael Cudlitz), a passionate dude with a void inside of him, due to the suicide of his father when he was a child. While some people collect comic books or play chess, Jim is a grief tourist; he loves to visit locations where disasters or tragedies have occurred. When the disaster-loving dude heads to New Orleans to visit areas made infamous by serial arsonist Carl Marznap (Pruitt Taylor Vince), he meets Betsy (Melanie Griffith), a waitress and a possible romantic counterpart. But Jim’s too busy with all things tragedy, and when he begins to lose his grip on reality, he soon reveals a dark and unspeakable secret simmering inside of him.
