The Rehearsal (2022)

Fans of Nathan Fielder's unique brand of humor from his Comedy Central series Nathan for You will have some idea of what to expect from his big budget HBO series The Rehearsal, but even Fielder can't stay focused on one topic for too long! With the firm belief that rehearsing every possible outcome of a tough situation in a person's life will lead to better interpersonal relationships, Fielder sets out to help everyday people navigate difficult topics with acting techniques. By the third episode, however, the show morphs into something else entirely, going on a wild journey through Fielder's own subconscious and feelings of inadequacy following his divorce.

In season two, Fielder dives into the world of aviation disasters, hoping to prove that rehearsing communication scenarios between co-pilots and pilots will lead to fewer plane crashes. Naturally, around the third episode, it begins to devolve into something else entirely, with Fielder going shirtless to play a giant baby suspended from the ceiling. We don't get it either, but it's stirring up something inside of us!
