Training Day without Denzel is a pretty tough sell, which you might expect to have been why the CBS series meant as a follow-up to the wildly successful 2001 film of the same name lasted just one season after debuting in 2017. But that's not what happened, actually. Bill Paxton's death is what doomed the show. Set fifteen years after the events of the movie, Bill Paxton is Detective Frank Roarke, a veteran of the LAPD's Special Investigation Section who refuses to play by the rules. He basically never gets called out on it though, since he's extremely effective at bringing in the bad guys and once rescued young Detective Rebecca Lee (Katrina Law) from a human trafficking ring. That'll give you a lifetime of good will. Frank likes to bang Hollywood hooker Holly Butler (Julie Benz) when he's not taking on The Yakuza, The Russian Mafia, and even female assassins. But when the higher ups get a bit concerned that Frank's going a bit too rogue, they send rookie Officer Kyle Craig (Justin Cornwell) to pretend to be his new partner while actually keeping an eye on him and reporting back what's going on in day-to-day life. Paxton died in February 2017, so viewers who liked seeing the unorthodox and highly illegal ways he took down crime syndicates were left having to rewatch the first season over and over. We need a couple of Training Days to get ready to mount the handsome hunk, David Cade. Post-sex, our shirtless cutie Cade is in bed with Katrina Law, with the two marveling at each other's bodies. He looks so hot that it should be illegal! Meanwhile, Troy Ruptash goes shirtless when the cops raid his hotel room. They burst in and seeing his meaty chest Mr. Man was about to burst! Training Day had us wanting to do dirty stuff with all sorts of dirty cops!
