Vinyan (2008)

On December 26 in 2004, an undersea megathrust earthquake ignited a massive tsunami in Indonesia. With nearly 228,000 casualties of people from 14 countries, this Boxing Day Tsunami is considered one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history! As such, the traumatic incident became the topic of documentaries (2005’s The Wave That Shook The World and Children of Tsunami: No More Tears); a TV miniseries (2006’s Tsunami: The Aftermath); and several dramatic movies, including Dasavathaaram (2008), Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter (2010) starring Matt Damon, Hafalan Shalat Delisa (2011), The Impossible (2012) with Ewan McGregor and Tom Holland, and Kayal (2014). Of course, we’d be remiss not to include Vinyan (2008) on this list. The ripped-from-the-headlines thriller stars British babe Rufus Sewell, and French actresses Emmanuelle Béart and Julie Dreyfus. The latter is not to be confused with the American star Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The drama follows a wealthly woman named Jeanne (Béart) who loses her son Joshua (Borhan Du Welz) in the tsunami. When she thinks she sees his picture years later on a documentary about Burmese orphans, the distraught wife drags her husband Paul (Sewell) back to Southeast Asia to look for their son. During their journey, they encounter human traffickers, feral children, and other unexpected dangers. Yet as hot as the jungle is, things get even hotter when the rugged Rufus bangs his leading lady in bed. The skintastic act reveals his bare back and ravishing rump. Needless to say, the sexy Mr. Sewell puts the motion into this motion picture!
