Why Are You Like This (2021)

Why Are You Like This? is one of those series that flew completely under the radar until Netflix picked it up and gave it broader distribution. This Australian series with LGBTQ themes first debuted way back in 2018 but was given a second life by Netflix in 2021 when they distributed it here in the States for the first time that spring! the series follows best friends Penny (Naomi Higgins) and Mia (Olivia Junkeer), who are two woke 21st century women determined to wake up the rest of the world to the major social injustices being done on a daily basis. Of course, as they soon find out, not everything and everyone can be viewed through such a progressive prism and the more people attempt to "correct" what they think is wrong with the world, we can expect these problems and stereotypes to persist. The show may at first seem like a celebration of woke-ness but it's actually a scathing takedown of the very principles that drive such a movement to begin with, reflecting this behavior back on itself in an effort to show just how ridiculous and exhausting it can be to expect others to conform to your own personal standards of conduct. Like any takedown worth its salt, this one exploits the very thing it shames others for exploiting, namely the nude male form! Or at least the bare male ass! Will King, playing the character Austin, can be seen bottomless in the kitchen standing by the dishwasher and showing off her cheekiest assets! One thing is for sure and that is that no one's asking a pants-less man Why Are You Like This?
