Women's Hell (2026)

The Polish series Piekło Kobiet, or Women's Hell, debuted on HBO Max in early 2026 and is set in Warsaw in the 1930s where newspaper editor Helena Wróblewska (Agata Turkot) begins the long and arduous process of fighting for women's rights in a male dominated society. Poland was fairly progressive during this time period, but the rights only seemed to extend to the wealthier women in the country. The show pulls on many threads from the time, such as the male-centric world of obstetrics and gynecology, where the doctors often misread or misdiagnose some women, while also dealing with the looming specter of Poland's invasion in 1939 by the Germans, bringing an abrupt end to any progress these women make! It took three episodes before we finally got some skin in the game, but actors Mateusz Damięcki and Maciej Kosiacki go ass out during their straight sex scenes, one of which leads to a literal explosion!
